Police Retiree Ron Ullevig passes away.

Ronald Charles Ullevig of San Antonio passed away

June 19, 2009.


He was born June 15,1947 inHastings, Minnesota.

Ron moved with his family to San Antonio in 1953

where be graduated from Thomas Edison High

School. He enlisted in theUS Navy in 1966 during

which he served with distinction in the Vietnam War.

He specialized in the Ten Sha Peninsula Security for

two tours of duty. Upon returning home, he joined

the San Antonio Police Department in 1970 and

retired after serving 24 years. Upon retiring,

he continued in law enforcement as the

Chief of Police in Poth, Texas.

He was a larger than life man with a big heart and

always had a ready smile and quick wit. He will be

greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by

his father, Robert Arnold Ullevig. He is survived by

his loving mother, Mary Louise Ullevig; wife Brenda

Ullevig: sons, Ronald Ullevig Jr. (partner Kelly) and

Jake Ullevig (wife Erica Ullevig); daughters;

Rachelle Edwards (husband Gary Edwards) and

Devyn Ullevig; brothers, Mike Ullevig

(wife Susan Ullevig) and Jerry Ullevig (wife Paula

Ullevig); sister, Dona Minor (husband Michael Minor);

seven grand children; one great grandchild;

numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held June 25, 2009 and include a

visitation at Funeral Caring at 6500 North IH 35

at 11:30 - 1:30 p.m. and a graveside service with

full military honors at Ft. Sam Houston at 2:30 p.m.
