More Comments about SaveDirectRX

Dale Jacobs responds (4/1/09):

Marcial, I hate being a complaining old timer. I understand how the system is supposed to work. I am not getting timely service, have had prescriptions lost-not filled, wrong medication sent, charged twice and find it difficult to communicate with them by phone. Also when my bills or actually the co pays I submit are processed, they have been lost twice by the office on Convent, processed incorrectly as I was shorted and I have not been reimbursed for co-pays I should have been on two occasions because they are "maintenance medications"? even though I received the prescription two times a year apart.

I was stuck with a $915.00 co pay for out of network after it was approved "twice".

My two biggest complaints 1. SaveDirectRx ONLY does a really good job of collecting my money up front. Usually 5-8 days before I get my prescription. If I had a choice, I would never do business with this company. 2. The office is no help at all in dealing with WEB-TPA and I don't know why those people are even there. They have not resolved a single issue I have had. I want to know who is my advocate? Who represents me. The insurance company won't talk to me and the office won't talk for me.

I have been back and forth to Austin everyday since Saturday and have tomorrow set aside with bexar county delegation visits, Thanks to Mr. Burney, SAPOA Legislative Team and the SAPOA Budget and Oversight Committee..

Hope to see you Thurs at Estella's Restaurant , on W. Martin St, and will visit especially on HIPPA Issues which complicate participating in plan participants discussions of their health care issues.

For your information legislation has just been filed which will raise the cost of prescription on mail order pharmacy orders, I've have named this legislation as the “ Full Time Bubba Independent Pharmacist Act of
2009 “.

The legislation is being tracked by Mr. Burney who caught the bill and alerted the Legislative Committee of the health care fund.

Thanks,
J. Clancy

Well, add my wife to the complaint list. She has required insulin for several years now and therefore is very careful to follow all Save Rx requirements and procedures in order to insure timely delivery of insulin. A couple of months ago her insulin did not arrive as ordered and after repeated calls to and excuses on the part of Save Rx, we had to contact her doctor and request an emergency Rx that we filled at H.E.B. When all was said and done, Save Rx admitted they had delivered her insulin to the wrong person, were then out of stock, and had to wait for a resupply. No one bothered to call and inform us of this.

About one month ago she received her prescriptions on time, but the wrong ones!! My wife realized that she had not received the correct Rx and we drove to the new Save Rx location on Lockhill Selma Rd in order to correct this. An employee apologized and added that they had not been prepared to handle the volume of prescriptions since they took over our contract but hope to get things straightened out. Meanwhile, we have learned to keep a close watch on how they do business.

I am glad to hear that one of us has received good service. One out of how many ain't bad?

Clancy should be giving this response. Can you get in touch with him? I think you need to enroll in PTRX which is administered by SaveDirectRx and it's mail order. There are certain steps you need to take and then it's delivered by mail. If you go to another pharmacy and it's a continuing prescription, you will be considered "OUT OF NETWORK" and you'll pay extra. Whenever you go to another pharmacy, it still goes thru SaveDirectRx. In the time we have had this, I have never (underline never) had any problems getting my meds in a timely manner. Bottom line, you have to read the Plan to sign up. I know some people might have a problem with mail-order meds but all I have to do is call a couple of days ahead for my refills and I get them in two days. I have had problems, but with Walgreens, not SaveDirectRx.
Uh, there were no promises or money exchanged for this information.

They tried to pull a change on one of my wife' meds that her doctor said
would have been devastating to her health but would have saved the fund
money. I'm pissed...

How many people have fallen for their hard sell?
