Early last week (March 24) my wife called SaveDirectRX with a prescription refill that we normally get refilled at Walgreens which is much more convenient to use. Walgreens was going to charge us twice as much ($40 rather than $20) as we had paid before because this was the third month we had the prescription refilled. So we were “FORCED” to call and use Save DirectRX.
SaveDirectRX is a total joke and a bad one at that. When she called they (Rodney) said they could call Walgreens and have them transfer the prescription with no problem but that processing the refill would take one or two weeks. This meant my wife would have to go without her medications. That is ridiculous.
As of today she still had not received the refill or heard from SaveDirectRX, so she called them this morning. The person on the phone said that they had not been able to contact Walgreens at the number we had given them. When they had a problem they made no attempt to call us to check on the phone number.
She talked to a second person who told her that the first person was wrong and that they had contacted Walgreens on the 26th. That person told her that the order had yet to be processed; said that they needed more info from Walgreens and that the order would be filled in one or two weeks more. She asked to talk to a supervisor and was told no one was available. She is waiting for a call back from a supervisor. Something tells me she is going to be waiting for a long time.
My wife just called Walgreens who told her that their records indicate that no one from SaveDirect had contacted them yet (8 days after the initial call.
SaveDirectRX is badly misnamed. They should be known as SaveDirectBS. Someone at the Prefunded Health Care Fund needs to make the decision to drop this program and change the requirements to allow us go back and fill our prescriptions fast and simply at our preferred local pharmacy.
Retirees take note and contact your representatives demanding a change and improvement to this situation!

Pete,
SaveDirect is saving the fund money. What is not occurring is that retiree's aren't getting service and no one is acting as an advocate on our behalf. I am disgusted with the service of SaveDirect and the inaction by the office charged with administering the billing and acting as a liaison to Web whatever the hell it is and Save Direct. I was in the lobby of Save Direct about two months ago and there were three firefighters with wives all very unhappy so I know I am not alone.

I had the same issue with bad service. I didn’t receive my prescriptions and when I called I was assured that they had left their building that day. When I didn’t receive them two days later, I called once more and spoke to a supervisor. She “looked into the situation” only to tell me that under her authority they were being shipped out with one hour of our conversation.
A very long story short, this occurred two more times. Meanwhile CVS had already given me (6) B/P pills then when I was out again I begged for another (6) more. The pharmacist was kind enough to give me (6) more to hold me over and saw that I was very upset with Save Direct.
The very next day, a lady from Save Direct and her daughter delivered my Meds at my door apologizing 1000 times. Oh and I forgot to mention this was a period of time when I was experiencing uncontrolled blood pressure. I have since purchased my meds at CVS.
Save Direct Bah- Humbug !

Yeah, I had many problems in the past. I vented my opinion but it fell on deaf ears. I guess someone will have to die because of SaveDirect's errors before anything is done.
