Final Tribute to retiree Bill Davis 9/22/07

Retiree Charlie Cortinas reminds us of a retiree we did not want to forget.

I saw this sometime back and never saw it come out in the coffeecops section, When I came on in the 70's he was on the force. Don't know what happen to him after I left patrol. Retiree Charlie Cortinas reminds us of a retiree we did not want to forget.

William Foster Davis was born December 10,

1923, and left this world on September 22,
2007. Although he spent the last nine years
in failing health, he never once complained
to the many people who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father Harry
Arthur Davis, a veteran of World War I,
his mother Neta Cox Davis, siblings Mary
Ruth, Malcolm Edward, and George Arthur.

He is survived by his three sons, Anthony Alexander Davis MD,
William Victor Davis, and Omar Gibran Davis; his siblings James
Walsh Davis, Charles Francis Davis, Clara June Odell, Alma Fay
Davis, and grandchildren Alex, Paul, Zachary, Richard, Victoria,
Gabriele, and numerous nieces and nephews.

His squinty smile, calm nature, and unique mannerisms made him
a true American Classic! Special thanks to his best friend
Tony Zuba who selflessly cared for Bill for nearly a decade
showing what true friendship and loyalty is all about. He will be
missed by all who knew him and we will live by his example of
warmth and compassion from a man who in his final years could
say I Love You and really mean it. So long Dagger, but only for
now.
