AARP ALTERNATIVE
I have been asked if there is another organization that does what AARP does but does not have a liberal bent, and is not involved in ultra left politics. Yes, there is. It’s called AMERICAN SENIORS ASSOCIATION [ ASA].
I thought others may be interested in this information also, thus this is being forwarded to you. I cancelled my AARP membership about three years ago.
If you are not familiar with how far left AARP has become, read below.
AARP has about 36 million members, and is assumed to represent the view of most senior citizens. What most of the AARP members do not know is that their membership dues are used by AARP to promote radical a far-left political agenda that is out of step with about 90% of Americans.
AARP brings in a staggering $900 million per year and spends a considerable amount lobbying Congress for higher taxes, more big government and more socialism. One reason AARP is such a strong advocate for a bigger government is that AARP received more that 1 billion from government (taxpayer money) over the last decade. One of the most outrageous recent examples of AARPs ultra-left bias is when AARP named the actor Harry Belafonte as AARP’S ‘person of the year’ and put Belafonte on the cover of the AARP magazine. Not long after he received that honor, Belafonte called President Bush “ the greatest tyrant in the world” and “the worlds greatest terrorist.” He also compared the Bush Administration to Hitler’s Gestapo and said Bush is “no better than Osama Bin Laden.”
Another example is that AARP’S online magazine featured a cover article promoting gay marriage and adoption of children of gay couples. AARP has teamed up with the militant Homosexual Lobby to try and defeat a referendum in
The discounts offered by AARP are no different from the discounts of commercial companies offer with many marketing promotions, sort of like clipping coupons from the local newspaper.
AMERICAN SENIOR’S ASSN is attempting to build a membership of 1,000,000 by the end of 2007. I have joined. The annual membership dues are $15. ASA says they must show politicians who are afraid of AARP’s attack ads and lobbying power that most of AARP’s members don’t actually support AARP’s agenda, or even know much about it. Many seniors and and AARP members just join AARP because they think they are supposed to and think AARP is the only seniors organization out there.
AMERICAN SENIORS ASSN has numerous discounts and perks, just as AARP does. Go to americanseniorsassociation.com to obtain more information.
The source of most of the information above is American Seniors Association, however I have known from other reliable sources of their left leaning philosophy.
