Wife of well known retiree, Bill Turner passes away.

Mary Catherine Turner was born on July 31, 1939 in
Chicago, Illinois. She arrived in Texas at high school age.
She attended Incarnate Word High School in the 9th grade,
then attended Alamo Heights High School until 1957.

While at AHHS, she followed her future husband, William
Austin Turner around without his knowledge, until he
graduated in 1955. A mutual friend introduced them in the
spring of 1956. They dated until she graduated in the spring
of 1957. They were married on Nov. 28, 1957 at St. Anthony
de Padua Catholic Church. This was the first marriage at the
church, which had just been built.

They had 3 children, Leslie Eileen Craig, Laura Rose
Seymour Hamblin and Carl Austin Turner. They were
together for 52 years, Mary worked for Guy Chipman Real
Estate Company for several years as well as raising their
three children while her husband worked on the SAPD.

Mary loved to play golf, which she did often with her father
and husband. They enjoyed many years together traveling
and made several trips to Las Vegas. They have nine
grandchildren, Austin Seymour and son, Levi, Amanda Craig
Casson and son, Jacob, Robert Craig and wife, Audrey and
their sons, Andrew and Timothy, Daniel Craig and wife Holly,
Anne Estelle Seymour, Ruth Craig Fexton and husband,David,
Rebecca and brother Justin, and Rayfield Pakebush.

Mary suffered from Multiple Sclerosis for many years, but it
only really affected her after 1997. She finally succumbed to
it on July 11, 2009.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from
6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM
at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. The Mass of the
Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, July 16, 2009
at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 140 Heimer Rd.,Suite 195,
San Antonio, Texas 78232.
