Retiree Richard Clayton dies at age 72

Mr. Richard Fred Clayton peacefully passed away on
July 25, 2009 at the age of 72.

Mr. Clayton was born in the beautiful town of Utopia, TX. on
May 28, 1937. He served in the US Air Force, then proudly
as an Officer and Detective on the San Antonio Police
Department for 30 years.

Mr. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents Richard
Ward and Jessie Isabell Smallwood-Clayton, brothers Leslie
& Raymond Clayton, and sisters Lola Marie and Jessie Faye
Clayton.

He is survived by his wife Diana Clayton, children Richard
Clayton Jr, Linda Clayton, and Pamela Clayton-Trevino,
step children Cinthia & Nathan Zumwalt, Donald & Kmel
Williams, grandchildren Priscilla, Clayton, & Christian
Trevino, Joshua, Jacob & Sara Sandoval, Alora & Shian
Williams, Justin, Briana & Tyler Zumwalt, great-grandchildren
Isabel & Baby Sandoval, Brother Jim Clayton, Sisters Lucille
Clayton-Rawlings, Patsy Clayton-Rawlings, and Mary
Clayton-Cantrell.

Mr. Clayton's wit and unending charm will be missed by all
who knew and loved him. A viewing will be held Thursday
from 4-7 pm and a memorial service to honor him will be
Friday at 10 am at Alamo Funeral home.
