Retiree Herbert Koenig passed away June 23rd.

Herbert S. Koenig Sr. age 71 of La Vernia passed away
June 23 ,2009.

Preceded in death by his father, Daniel Koenig; sisters,
Bernice Luddeke and Lorraine Janacek; grandson,
Gabriel Koenig and niece, Judy Morin. He is survived
by his wife Mary (Bailey) Koenig; children, Betty McCauley
& Bobby, Jacquelyn Koenig, Herb Koenig Jr., John Koenig &
Wendy, Mark Koenig & Monica; grandchildren, Joshua, Noah,
Gaby, Zachary, Preston & Maya Koenig, Frankie, Andrew
& Annie McCauley; mother, Bertha Koenig; sister, Evelyn
Morin & James and family; brothers, Maurice Koenig &
Kathy and family, Adolph Koenig & Donna and family and
Dan Koenig and family; numerous nieces, nephews, great
nieces & great nephews.

Herb was in the US Coast Guard, retired from the SAPD, a
member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Ann's Mens Club,
La Vernia Lions Club, a Reserve La Vernia Police Officer
where he for many years directed traffic for the LaVernia
ISD and was in charge of security for LV Pop Warner for
ten years and was very active in the church ministry.

Visitation will take place Friday, June 26, 2009 from
4PM-9PM with a rosary recited at 7:30PM at Finch Funeral
Chapel, LaVernia. Funeral Mass Saturday, June 27, 2009
10:00AM St. Ann's Catholic Church Father Stanislaw Fiuk
officiating with interment to follow at St. Ann's Catholic
