GARANSUAY Mr. Jose R. Garansuay age 62 of Castroville passed away Friday, December 12, 2008. Mr. Garansuay was a patriotic and community oriented individual having served his country as a Vietnam veteran in the United States Army from 1964-1967 as a Specialist 5. He then joined the San Antonio Park Rangers, and later became a member of the Olmos Park Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Rosa Garansuay and a brother, Ruben Garansuay. He is survived by his wife, Jovita Castano Garansuay; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Darryl Jordan; daughter, Melanie Garansuay; grandchildren: Danielle and Darryl Jr.; stepsons: Roland Oviedo and wife Angie, Martin Oviedo and wife Melanie; brothers: Richard Garansuay and wife Maria, Robert Garansuay and wife Rose Marie; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at 5:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph (South San) Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. Condolences to the Garansuay family. |
