Retired police chief Al Philippus' mother passes away.

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Norrine Allen Philippus passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 5, 2008. She was born in Yorktown, TX, on December 14, 1921, to Eugene and Bertha Gross. Norrine's love for dancing led her to her first husband, Kurt. She had a passion for ceramics and loved spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for the way she celebrated life. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kurt A. Philippus Sr.; a son, Kurt A. Philipps, Jr.; her second husband, Louis R. Trost; and a sister, Dolores Watkins. She is survived by a son, Al A. Philippus and wife Jeanne; 9 grandchildren, Dawn M. Knepper and husband Kurt, Jason A. Philippus, Mary L. Philippus, Holden M. Philippus, Hallee S. Philippus, Judd Philipps, Gavin Philipps, Graydon Philipps, and Logan Philipps; her great-granddaughter, Ava K. Knepper; a sister, Narcissus (Sissy) Weesner and husband Ted; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at Porter Loring North.
