Retiree Ray Hildebrand needs long recovery period.

Retiree Tom Shaw shares this news with us:

For those that did not hear: A week ago Thursday Ray Hildebrand was found unconscious on the bathroom floor over at the DA's office where we work. He was taken to the hospital and was diagnosed as having a stroke and there are no qualified neurosurgeons here in S.A. to treat the type of stroke he had. He was air-lifed to Austin Breckenridge Hospital. Word came back to us on Friday that Susan was told she would have to make a decision on Ray as there was no hope of recovery beyond a vegetative state (prognosis of 2 neurosurgeons). I went to Austin on Saturday to see Ray. Susan said that an older neurosurgeon had just left from examining Ray and he had a totally different prognosis. He said Ray will have a long recovery period and will just have some weakness on his right side. Last I heard was Ray was moved out of I.C.U. Quite a lesson on getting another doctor's opinion.
