Joe W. McInvale passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 at the age of 70 years. Native and lifetime resident of Floresville. A combat veteran of the Viet Nam War. Retired San Antonio Policeman after 26 years, serving mostly in southeast San Antonio. Member of American Legion Post in Floresville, VFW Post in Poth, Member of the Retired Police Officers Assn. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Joellen McInvale Sanchez, Sally and husband Tommy Cooper, son, George and wife, Kim McInvale all of Wilson County; sister Thelma Garnand; nephew, Jimmie and wife Sylvia Garnand, Alaska; brother, Charlie McInvale; grandchildren, Eric, Rebecca, Aurora, and Joseph Sanchez, Wesley and Bethany Cooper. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Floresville City Cemetery. Subject: Death Notification
I just received a telephone call from Linda McInvale informing me that Joe McInvale died this morning, 04/25/2008. He had been diagnosed with lung cancer and contracted pneumonia. Funeral arrangements are pending. I will advise when I receive further information.

Joe was one of the finest and fairest officers I ever had the pleasure of working with. He always had the public in mind with all his actions and could always be depended on. Joe you were an inspiration to those around you. Joe you left this world early but you left it better than you found it. I will miss you as will many others.
