James Edward Despres, 79, a retired police captain who spent 39 years with the San Antonio Police Department, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007.
He was born June 18, 1928 in Decatur, Ill.. He married Joyce Seidenschnur on Oct. 20, 1951, in San Antonio. He enjoyed spending time with his family, building or fixing things in his workshop, doing crossword puzzles, and cheering for his favorite team, the Spurs. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Michael; daughter, Linda; sister, Margaret Follis of California; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
We will always celebrate the man who made each of us feel like we were the most important people in the world. We take solace knowing that he now rests in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, patiently waiting for us to rejoin him, and we look forward to the day we can see him again.
SERVICES There will be a public viewing from 6-7 p.m. before a Rosary on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
