Mother of SAPD officer shot in gun battle speaks.

Hi, This is the Mrs. Larry Robarts. ( Mom )

Our son had another surgery on Thursday. They remove

stitches from his right arm and clean all wounds.

They are trying to make sure that all debris is out before

closing the right foot and right arm permanently.

His left arm has numerous stitches but is clean.

The right knee is serious.

That SOB blew all the bone away below his right knee.

He will have to have a skin graft behind the right knee. T

hey will go in Tuesday and clean all wounds again.

They will measure the amount of bone he will need and

will order one to be taken from a cadaver. This will take

6 to 8 weeks. Lawrence has had 10 units of blood already.

They have the right leg with rods in it to hold it stationary.

The good news is that they got him up today twice and

this was his best day thus far. He will come home and go

back in when the bone comes in.

Thank everyone for all the prayers. There is little doubt

that God wasn't ready for him Monday evening. Everyone

has been so kind and caring.

There are no words to express how grateful Larry and

I are for everything. Lawrence said the only reason he

is alive is because of the courage the guys had to get him

out of there when they did.

The news on Brandie is that she is doing much better.

They removed the breathing tube and she is not paralyzed.

So we are all happy about this.

Now if neither get infections we are in good shape.

Thank you again.

Pam Robarts
